I started learning to play the harp in early 2017, playing my first set at an open mic and poetry night. The harp has brought me some wonderfully exciting opportunities. These include teaching, playing for the Southampton Rotary Club, the Geoff Smith Foundation, fundraising with Wessex Heartbeat at the Concorde Club in Southampton, playing for the County Bowling Club prize giving lunch at Chilworth Manor, weddings, Christmas doos, recording studio work, and music festivals around the country.
I created a collaboration in April 2019. It was improvisational from both myself and my friend from university - Sarah Denise who is a trapeze artist and also a super creative and technically brilliant costume and fashion designer.
In May 2019, I had my first solo art exhibition at the Harbour Lights Picturehouse in Southampton. On the opening night I played harp whilst people arrived, which I felt was very in sync with my artwork that includes a lot of music notation and mermaids playing the harp. My chosen charity was The Honeypot Children’s Charity in which I raised £50 for through artwork sales. Next year I will hold another solo exhibition and support fundraising for Wessex Heartbeat-Southampton.
I am really excited to be involved with Roka Bella Rose Weddings. November 2019 brought an amazing fairytale photoshoot in the woodlands with Carly and her super creative and welcoming team.
I would like to thank every person, music teachers, family and friends for all their support throughout this journey.
